What Happened

Texas Department of Public Safety officials are investigating a crash that injured a driver at I-35 in Live Oak, TX on January 11th, 2022. Police say the incident happened around 2:45 a.m. A Chevrolet Avalanche operated by 47-year-old Tyrone Farias was reportedly traveling northbound in southbound lanes of I-35 before colliding head-on with a Ford Mustang operated by 46-year-old Marcela Peres Melchor. Melchor was seriously injured in the collision while Farias was reportedly uninjured. Records indicated a charge of Driving While Intoxicated was recommended and/or issued for Farias.
