What Happened

Area authorities are investigating a crash that left at least one person dead at U.S. 59 in Nacogdoches County, TX on July 12th, 2023. Officials are saying it happened around 10:17 p.m. According to investigators, a northbound Dodge SUV is alleged to have veered into the southbound lanes for unknown reasons before colliding head-on with a semi-truck. The driver of the Dodge, 24-year-old Nancy Juarez, was taken to an area hospital for treatment of serious injuries. 32-year-old  passenger, Marco Antonio Silva, was thrown from the vehicle on impact and died at the scene. The operator of the semi-truck, identified as 46-year-old Titus Jackson, was hospitalized for treatment of minor injuries. At this time, officials do not have any additional information.
