Area authorities are investigating a crash that killed a person at South Padre Island Dr in Corpus Christi, TX on July 14th, 2023. Police say the incident happened around 2:30 a.m. Investigators believe a passenger vehicle was headed eastbound on an an access road before veering into a shoulder for unclear reasons. The vehicle is said to have struck a metal highway sign, leaving the driver seriously injured. The driver, identified as 35-year-old Marco Meza-Juarez, was hospitalized with injuries he later died from. Additional information was not immediately available.
