Texas Department of Public Safety officials are investigating a collision that injured a driver at FM 17 in Van Zandt County, TX on October 15th, 2021. Police say the incident happened around 8:50 p.m. A Dodge Ram 1500 operated by 27-year-old Marcos Miguel Arellano is said to have been traveling southwest on FM 17 when it veered from the road and crashed into a group of trees. Arellano was seriously injured in the crash and officers suggested and/or issued a Driving While Intoxicated-Open Container charge.
