Are authorities are investigating a crash that injured a driver a I-45 in Freestone County, TX on April 8th, 2023. Police say the incident happened around 11:05 p.m. According to investigators, a Buick Enclave operated by an unidentified 36-year-old Houston man is alleged to have failed to control its speed prior to colliding with the rear of a Hyundai Santa Fe operated by 54-year-old Maria Rodriguez. The impact caused the vehicle to overturn, ejecting a rear seat passenger as result. The passenger, who was also not identified, suffered fatal injuries as a result of the crash. Rodriguez was seriously injured, according to police, while an additional passenger was evaluated for possible injuries. The Houston man was not injured and authorities recommended and/or issued an Intoxication Manslaughter charge.
