What Happened

Texas Department of Public Safety officials are investigating a crash that injured multiple people at FM 1489 in Fort Bend County, TX on November 23rd, 2021. Police say it happened around 11:35 a.m. A tractor-trailer operated by a 26-year-old Katy, TX man is said to have failed to control its speed while traveling north on FM 1489. It then collided with a stopped Ford E series which was pushed into oncoming traffic and collided with a Hyundai operated by 30-year-old Mariano Garza III. Garza suffered serious injuries while a passenger, 29-year-old Cassandra Olivarez, suffered minor injuries. The van driver suffered possible injuries while the Katy driver was not injured.
