What Happened

Texas Department of Public Safety officials are investigating a crash that injured a person at I-35 in San Marcos, TX on January 19th, 2022. Police say the incident happened around 4:27 p.m. A Nissan Versa operated by 22-year-old Mario Esquivel had reportedly earlier sideswiped a Toyota Sienna operated by 70-year-old Steven Fletcher. Investigators say the Sienna was allegedly chasing the Versa before both ended up crashing at a turnaround. A 69-year-old passenger in the Sienna suffered non-life-threatening injuries. Esquivel suffered serious injuries.
