What Happened

Texas Department of Public Safety officials are investigating a collision that injured a person at FM 2020 in Ector County, TX on February 18th, 2022. Police say the incident happened around 6:40 p.m. According to investigators, a Ford F-350 operated by a 37-year-old Midland man was headed eastbound on FM 2020 when the truck failed to control its speed and collided with the rear of a Chevrolet Equinox stopped in traffic. The impact pushed the Equinox into the Chevrolet Silverado ahead of it, causing the driver of the Equinox, 23-year-old Maritza Chavez, minor injuries. No one else involved was reportedly injured and records indicate a Failure to Control Speed charge was issued for the Midland man.
