Area authorities are investigating a crash that injured several people at US 385 in Castro County, TX on November 30th, 2023. Police say the incident happened around 2:56 p.m. According to investigators, a tractor-trailer headed northbound on US 385 was nearing the FM 145 intersection. As it did to, reports say the vehicle slowed to make a left turn onto FM 145. Reports allege the vehicle turned when unsafe as a Chevrolet Tahoe allegedly failed to pass to the left safely, resulting in a collision between the two vehicles. The crash is said to have seriously injured the driver of the Tahoe, identified as 27-year-old Martha Slames. Two passengers in the vehicle, including a 3-year-old child, each had injuries considered less serious. The other driver, who was not publicly identified, was allegedly uninjured.
