Texas Department of Public Safety officials have details on a crash that injured a driver at FM 2410 in Harker Heights, TX on January 22nd, 2022. Police say the incident happened around 6:59 p.m. A Chevrolet Avalanche operated by a 48-year-old Harker Heights man was headed westbound on FM 2410 when it reportedly crossed over a lane divided into oncoming eastbound traffic. A Toyota Highlander, operated by 70-year-old Mary Brown, reportedly attempted to avoid colliding with the Avalanche but was unable and both vehicles crashed head-on. Brown suffered serious injuries while the Harker Heights man was not injured. Responding officers allege that an open alcohol container was located in the passenger seat of the Avalanche and reports indicate the man was arrested on a Driving While Intoxicated charge.
