What Happened

Texas Department of Public Safety officials are investigating a crash that injured two people at I-10 in Beaumont, TX on June 24th, 2021. Police say the incident happened around 11:24 a.m. A commercial tractor-trailer operated by a 29-year-old Tampa, FL man reportedly lost control and veered into a center lane. It struck a Chevrolet Equinox operated by 50-year-old Mary Gerac, causing it to lose control and overturn. The Equinox was then struck by a Mercedes-Benz when it flipped into its path. Gerac and a passenger in the Mercedes suffered minor injuries. The truck driver was not injured and was charged with Driving at Unsafe Speed.
