What Happened

Waco Police are searching for a driver in connection with a collision at I-35 in Waco, TX on November 2nd, 2021. Police say Matthew Hicks was traveling by bicycle on the sidewalk as a vehicle began to turn into the path of the bike to enter a parking lot. The bike hit the truck, knocking Hicks to the ground before his ankle was crushed by the truck. Hicks says there was initial talk with the driver before he lost conciseness and another individual called medical officials to the scene. A police report was filed two days later and driver of the truck was reportedly not involved beyond the initial conversation he and Hicks shared after the collision. Police are still looking for the driver.
