What Happened

Texas Department of Public Safety officials are investigating a crash that killed several people at Hwy 110 in Smith County, TX on July 22nd, 2022. Police say the incident happened around 5:20 a.m. According to investigators, a Dodge Charger was headed northbound prior to colliding head-on with a Chevrolet Tahoe under unclear circumstances. The Charger caught fire in the crash. All occupants of the vehicles suffered fatal injuries. They were identified as 23-year-old Matthew Reneaux, 26-year-old Jennifer Felix, 38-year-old Marvin Jenkins Jr, 39-year-old Gabriel Salamanca and a juvenile passenger in the Tahoe.
