What Happened

Officials in Walker County, TX, are investigating a multi-vehicle crash that occurred on March 4, 2025, at around 9:50 a.m. on Interstate 45 in a construction zone. A  semi-truck was traveling northwest when it failed to control its speed and rear-ended a Jeep Wrangler, causing a chain reaction involving three other vehicles. A 78-year-old passenger in the Jeep, identified as Maurine Fulton, sustained fatal injuries, and the 54-year-old driver sustained possible injuries. The driver of the tractor-trailer was cited for failure to control speed. No other injuries were reported. Speeding was identified as a contributing factor. The investigation is complete.
