What Happened

Area authorities are investigating a crash that killed a pedestrian at I-45 in Harris County, TX on August 19th, 2023. Police say the incident happened around 8:27 p.m. According to investigators, 24-year-old Maya Francois was allegedly crossing the roadway westbound to eastbound before being struck by an approaching southbound vehicle. Following the collision, reports allege the suspected vehicle left the scene without stopping to render aid. Shortly after, Francois was also hit by a Nissan Versa and suffered fatal injuries at the scene. Authorities had no additional information was not available.
