What Happened

Texas Department of Public Safety officials are investigating a crash that killed a driver at I-35 and Hi Line Dr in Dallas, TX on November 25th, 2021. Police say the incident happened around 1:32 p.m. Investigators are saying a Mercedes-Benz operated by 68-year-old Mearion Harris was headed southbound in a right lane before it attempted to cross left to merge lanes. It then struck a crash attenuator before rotating and colliding with a Chevrolet Silverado operated by 51-year-old Carlene Altom. Harris suffered fatal injuries in the crash while Altom was evaluated for possible injuries. Investigators allege alcohol may have played a factor in the crash.
