What Happened

Authorities in Harris County, TX, are investigating a three-vehicle crash that occurred on March 23, 2025, at approximately 6:14 p.m. on E Sam Houston Parkway N. A  Ford Focus was traveling south when it failed to maintain a single lane and struck a concrete barrier, then collided with a Chevrolet Tahoe and a Toyota RAV4. The 22-year-old mdriver of the Ford sustained suspected serious injuries and was charged with aggravated assault with a deadly weapon and DWI. The 46-year-old  driver of the Tahoe and the 22-year-old driver of the RAV4, identified as Melanie Contreras,  both sustained minor injuries. Alcohol use and lane departure were identified as contributing factors. The investigation is complete.
