Texas Department of Public Safety officials have information on a crash that killed a driver at County Rd 244 in Brazoria County, TX on December 8th, 2022. Police state the incident happened around 7:21 a.m. According to investigators, a Toyota Sienna operated by 24-year-old Melissa Jones was said to have been traveling eastbound before veering from the road for unclear reasons. They allege the vehicle lost control while attempting to return to its lane, crossing over to the south side of the road and striking a fence. The impact is believed to have caused the vehicle to overturn into a nearby tree, resulting in fatal injuries. Officers say there were no other vehicles involved and had no additional information to offer.
