Harris County Sheriff's Office authorities are investigating a crash that killed a driver at I-45 in Harris County, TX on May 14th, 2023. Police say the incident occurred around 2:42 a.m. Investigators say a Honda Civic operated by Merlin Gamoneda Lopez was traveling under rainy weather conditions making the roads slick. The vehicle lost control while traveling, crashing into a retaining wall. The impact pushed the vehicle back into a southbound lane, facing north. It was struck by a southbound Dodge Ram, the impact ejecting Gamoneda-Lopez from the vehicle and causing fatal injuries at the scene.
