What Happened

Area authorities are investigating a crash that injured a driver at I-610 in Houston, TX on June 5th, 2023. Police say the incident happened around 11 a.m. According to investigators, a tractor-trailer operated by a 63-year-old Bastrop man was was headed westbound at the time. Police allege the vehicle failed to control its speed before colliding with the rear of a Toyota Avalon operated by 19-year-old Meshea Wilson Broussard. Police say Broussard suffered suspected serious injuries while a 22-year-old passenger was evaluated for possible injuries. The Bastrop man was not injured, according to officials. A Failure to Control Speed charge was recommended and/or issued.
