What Happened

Texas Department of Public Safety officials are investigating a crash that injured a driver at 52nd St and Winchester Ave in Odessa, TX on June 20th, 2021. Police say the incident happened around 7:41 p.m. A Chevrolet Avalanche operated by 30-year-old Michael Anthony Gallegos reportedly failed to control its speed and collided with the rear of a Dodge Ram 1500 that was stopped. The impact caused the vehicle to veer from the road through a private yard before crashing into a parked Dodge Durango. Gallegos suffered serious injuries in the crash. The driver and passengers of the other vehicles were not injured. Police charged Gallegos with Failure to Control Speed, Failure to Display Driver's License and Driving While Intoxicated.
