Authorities are investigating a fatal crash that occurred at 12:24 a.m. on October 6th, 2024, on FM 1616 near Athens, Texas. According to officials, 29-year-old Michael Bone was allegedly operating a Ford Ranger eastbound with two children. For unclear reasons, the vehicle is alleged to have reportedly crossed into a westbound lane. There, reports say the vehicle collided with a Nissan Armada allegedly operated by 57-year-old Merri Kelly of Murchison. None of the occupants in the Ranger were wearing seatbelts.
