What Happened

Authorities are investigating a crash that killed one person involved at US 183 in Lockhart, TX on July 10th, 2024. Police say the incident happened around 9:37 p.m. According to investigators, a Chevrolet Silverado us alleged the have been headed northbound prior to allegedly veering into a southbound lane, possibly due to driver distraction. Reports say the vehicles collided, the impact leaving 41-year-old Lincoln driver, Michael Krasniewski, with injuries that were fatal. A 13-year-old passenger was seriously injured while a 14-year-old passenger had non-life-threatening injuries. The driver of the Chevrolet allegedly had minor injuries and was cited for Failure to Drive in a Single Lane and Distracted Driving. Additional information was not immediately available.
