What Happened

Area authorities are investigating a crash that injured a driver at State Hwy 300 in Upshur County, TX on April 11th, 2022. Police say the incident happened around 5:31 a.m. According to investigators, a commercial trash truck operated by a 48-year-old Pittsburg, TX man was headed southbound on State Hwy 300 with activated cautionary lights. A Jeep Liberty operated by 31-year-old Michael Wayne Jobe was traveling behind the truck and allegedly changed lanes to attempted to pass the truck to the right. The trash truck began preparing to make a u-turn when the vehicles collided. Jobe suffered minor injuries while the Pittsburg man was not injured. Records indicate a Turned When Unsafe charge was recommended and/or issued.
