What Happened

Harris County Sheriff's Office officials have information on a crash that killed one person at Mesa Dr in Harris County, TX on June 9th, 2023. Officials say the incident happened around 11:11 p.m. Investigators say a Toyota Corolla was headed northeast, approaching a curve in the roadway. Police believe the the vehicle lost control at the curve and left the roadway, beginning to rotate as it did so. The vehicle ended up turning onto its side, ejecting an occupant from the vehicle. The ejected occupant, identified as Miguel Castro-Izaguirre, suffered fatal injuries at the scene. A second occupant who was not identified was transported to an area hospital with injuries believed to be minor in nature. Additional details were not available.
