Area authorities are investigating a crash that killed one person involved at I-35 in Hickory Creek, TX on May 6th, 2023. Police say the incident happened around 10:26 p.m. According to investigators, a Chevrolet Silverado C2500 is said to have lost control, colliding with the rear of a Ford Mustang. The impact pushed the Ford into a crash attenuator, trapping the driver. The vehicle is said to have caught fire shortly after. The Silverado veered from he road and overturned, its occupants fleeing the scene. The driver of the Ford, identified as 21-year-old Mikyiel Brooks, was taken to an area hospital with injuries he later died from. Additional information was not available.
