What Happened

Texas Department of Public Safety officials are investigating a collision that killed a driver at TX 121 in Anna, TX on September 13th, 2021. Police say the incident happened around 7:36 a.m. A Toyota Prius operated by 51-year-old Misty Kubota wast headed southbound on TX 121 when it took evasive action to avoid rear ending another vehicle as traffic came to a stop. This caused the Prius to veer across a center divider into northbound lanes. A tractor-trailer is said to have took evasive action in order to avoid colliding with the Prius and went into the shoulder. The Prius continued onto the northbound shoulder and struck the tractor-trailer, killed Kubota at the scene. Her passenger, 29-year-old Jamilyn Kubota was hospitalized with serious injuries. The truck driver was treated for minor injuries.
