What Happened

Texas Department of Public Safety officials are investigating a crash that injured a driver at t I-35 in Denton, TX on May 20th, 2022. Police say the incident happened around 9:32 p.m. Investigators say a Toyota Camry operated by 26-year-old Mitchell Eltzholtz was headed southbound on I-35 as it approached a Ford F-250 operated by a 32-year-old Sanger man. The Camry collided with the rear of Ford, however, officers allege different information was presented by the Sanger man regarding the status of the Ford at the time of the collision. Eltzholtz, who officers allege may have been under the influence of alcohol, suffered serious injuries. The Sanger man, who officers allege may have been traveling at an unsafe slow speed, suffered minor injuries. Additional information was not immediately available.
