Police say the incident happened around 12:18 a.m. According to investigators, a Jeep Cherokee headed northbound on San Pedro Ave is alleged to have been traveling at or above highway speeds prior to entering an access road. Authorities say the vehicle lost control while navigating a curve in the access road, instead continuing straight and veering into an embankment. There, reports say the vehicle entered into a grass median. the impact from the crash leaving the driver, Mohamad Achmar, fatally injured.
