What Happened

Area authorities are investigating a crash involving three vehicles that left a woman dead at I-40 and Pullman Rd in Amarillo, TX on March 29th, 2023. Police say it occurred around 9:20 a.m. and involved a semi-truck, pickup truck and SUV. Initial investigation suggests the SUV and pickup collided head-on while the SUV was allegedly traveling westbound in eastbound lanes. The pickup truck was then struck by the semi-truck, causing it to overturn. While the pickup truck driver was seriously injured and semi-truck driver had non-life-threatening injuries, the SUV driver was killed. The victim was identified as 72-year-old Myretta Gowdy.
