What Happened

Dallas Police have information on a hit-and-run accident at Cockrell Hill Rd in Dallas, TX on January 2nd, 2025. Authorities say the incident happened around 7 p.m. as a vehicle traveled at the intersection with Division St. Police say the vehicle struck 56-year-old Nancy Dowd, initially stopping at the scene to render aid. While doing so, reports claim a second vehicle traveling at a high rate of speed struck Dowd before fleeing the scene. Dowd was taken to an area hospital with injuries she later died from. Officials say 24-year-old Miguel Briseno Mendez was later arrested  on a Collision Involving Death charge. Additional information was not available.
