What Happened

Area authorities are investigating a crash that injured a driver at County Rd 404 In Burnet County, TX on December 30th, 2023. Police say the incident happened around 3:29 a.m. Investigators say a Dodge Ram 1500 operated by 19-year-old Nathanael Severance was northbound on County Rd 404 with a Toyota 4Runner traveling behind it. Reports say the vehicles were approaching a curve in the roadway before the Dodge veered from the road for unclear reasons. Reports continue to say the Dodge hit a nearby fence once leaving the roadway, as well as a tree, causing the vehicle to overturn. From there, reports say the vehicle was struck by the Toyota, the collisions leaving Severance seriously injured. Also injured, officials say, was his 19-year-old passenger, who suffered minor injuries. The occupants of the Toyota were allegedly uninjured. Police are investigating whether alcohol played a factor in the crash.
