What Happened

Area authorities are investigating a crash that injured a man at State Hwy 78 in Collin County, TX on December 24th, 2023. Police say the incident happened around 4:21 a.m. According to investigators, a Toyota Corolla operated by 34-year-old Nelson Ghogomu was northbound in heavy rain weather conditions. Traveling northbound prior to allegedly attempting to make a u-turn was tractor-trailer. Police say the truck became trapped in mud during the u-turn, blocking lanes of travel as the Toyota approached. The two vehicles collided as a result, the crash leaving Ghogomu seriously injured, reports say. The other driver, who was not publicly identified, was allegedly uninjured.
