What Happened

Area authorities are investigating a crash that killed a person at Newfield Ln in Austin, TX on September 18th, 2021. Police have said it happened around 2:51 a.m. A Chevrolet operated by Lee Ann Lafaye Nash was headed northbound when it struck a scooter driver. Investigators say the scooter was traveling against traffic before the vehicles collided. The driver of the scooter, later identified as 33-year-old Nicholas Tchirkow, died at the scene. Nash was arrested at the scene for DWI.
