What Happened

Texas Department of Public Safety officials are investigating a crash that injured two people at I-2 in Palmview, TX on November 15th, 2021. Police say the incident happened around 6:04 a.m. A Nissan Altima operated by a 28-year-old Edinburg man was headed eastbound before losing control while traveling at an unsafe speed. It then veered from its lane and struck a center median. An approaching Ford F-150 operated by 25-year-old Nigel Reyes reportedly swerved to avoid a collision before both colliding with a commercial truck that left the scene. Reyes suffered minor injuries while the other driver suffered serious injuries. Investigators believe the Edingburg man was driving while intoxicated and issued a DWI charge.
