What Happened

Area authorities have information on a crash that injured a person at US 60 in Carson County, TX on December 23rd, 2021. Police say the incident happened around 6:45 a.m. A tractor-trailer operated by a 26-year-old Lubbock man was reportedly overturned and blocking a westbound lane of travel as a Dodge Nitro approached. The driver, a 22-year-old, is said to have applied the brakes to avoid colliding with the truck. A GMC SUV traveling behind the Dodge, operated by 70-year-old David Risley, did not brake in time and collided with the Dodge. A 21-year-old Dodge passenger, identified as Nikki Lynn Ramirez, suffered minor injuries. The drivers of the Dodge and GMC were not injured while the Lubbock man suffered minor injuries.
