What Happened

Harlingen Police are searching for a driver in connection with a hit-and-run accident at Montezuma Rd in Harlingen, TX on December 19th, 2021. They say around 3 a.m., 29-year-old Nilda Marie Garcia was walking southbound on Breedlove Rd when she was struck by a southbound vehicle. The vehicle left the scene, leaving Garcia suffering with injuries that she was transported to an area hospital for treatment of. She died from her injuries on December 25th. Police believe the vehicle involved is a Jeep Cherokee Limited.
