What Happened

Authorities are investigating a crash that killed a driver at State Hwy 105 in Conroe, TX on January 31st, 2024. Police say the incident happened around 4:33 p.m. According to investigators, a motorcycle was headed eastbound as a Nissan Sentra nearby began making a left turn. In the process, the motorcycle and Nissan collided, the motorcyclist suffering fatal injuries in the process. The driver of the Nissan was hospitalized with undisclosed injuries. Authorities allege the motorcycle may have been racing another vehicle at the time of the collision and further allege the operator of the Nissan was under the influence of alcohol at the time of the incident. The motorcyclist, identified as 22-year-old Noe Chavez, was fatally injured. Sources indicate a DWI charge was recommended and/or issued against the driver of the Nissan.
