What Happened

Area authorities are investigating a crash that injured a driver at US 69 in Cherokee County, TX on October 8th, 2023. Police say the incident happened around 4 a.m. According to investigators, a Chrysler 300C operated by 36-year-old Norman Stewart was southbound prior to veering from the road, possibly to avoid striking a deer in the roadway. As a result, the vehicle traveling off the west side of the roadway, colliding with a tree before veering southeast and overturning and landing upright.
