What Happened

Authorities in Martin County, TX, are investigating a three-vehicle crash that occurred on March 18, 2025, at approximately 5:18 p.m. on State Highway 137 near a private driveway. A Dodge Ram 2500 was traveling north when it failed to control speed and rear-ended a commercial semi-trailer that was slowing to turn into the driveway. The impact caused the semi-trailer to strike a third vehicle it was towing. The 45-year-old driver of the Dodge, who had been drinking and was ejected, sustained suspected serious injuries. No other injuries were reported. Speeding, alcohol use, and lane departure were identified as contributing factors. The investigation is incomplete.
