Texas Department of Public Safety officials are investigating a crash that injured an officer at Sam Houston Pkwy in Blackhawk Blvd in Houston, TX on August 4th, 2021. Police say the incident happened around 1:28 a.m. A GMC Sonoma operated by 33-year-old Oscar Ivan Villegas was headed eastbound when it collided with an officer performing a traffic stop. The officer, 28-year-old Deputy Craig Sujo, was seriously injured. Villegas was not injured and charged with Failure to Stop and Render Aid and Driving While Intoxicated.
