What Happened

Fort Worth Police are investigating a crash that injured an officer at East Lancaster Ave in Fort Worth, TX on August 3rd, 2022.  Police say the incident happened around 11:15 p.m. According to investigators, a police vehicle was en route to respond to a call and had active emergency lights and siren sounding before another vehicle failed to yield and collided with the police cruiser. The impact sent the police vehicle into a tree and the officer inside was hospitalized for treatment of undisclosed injuries. Police say the driver involved was charged with intoxication assault and leaving the scene of an accident.
