What Happened

Texas Department of Public Safety officials are investigating a collision that injured a pedestrian at Berry St and New York Ave in Fort Worth, TX on August 7th, 2021. Police say the incident happened around 12:50 a.m. A GMC Yukon operated by 24-year-old Ty Tyrie Edward Powe collided with an unidentified 62-year-old male pedestrian. Responding officers say the pedestrian was wearing dark colored clothing and crossing in a darkly lit area. Powe remained at the scene to render aid to the pedestrian, who suffered serious injuries. Officers say the pedestrian's friend told them the man had been drinking alcohol prior to the collision.
