Authorities are investigating a crash that injured at least one person at I-10 in Beaumont, TX on February 1st, 2024. Officials say the incident occurred around 2:10 a.m. According to officials, an 18-wheeler headed westbound on I-10 is said to have struck a nearby concrete barrier for unclear reasons. The collision caused the truck end up partially in a center median and partially blocking eastbound lanes. As a result, officials say an approaching Hyundai collided with a GMC pickup that was slowing for traffic due to the wrecked truck. The vehicle is said to have also struck a second 18-wheeler that was also stopped in the building traffic. The Hyundai was struck by a Chevrolet as well and reports say the driver of the Hyundai, who was not publicly identified, was hospitalized with injuries believed to be non-life-threatening in nature.
