What Happened

Texas Department of Public Safety officials are investigating a crash that injured a person at State Hwy 71 in Travis County, TX on August 13th, 2021. Police say the incident happened around 9:22 a.m. A tractor-trailer operated by a 59-year-old La Grange man was headed eastbound on TX 71 as it approached a red light intersection. The truck began breaking too late and collided with a Toyota at the light. The driver of the Toyota, a 26-year-old Austin man, suffered minor injuries. The truck driver was not injured and cited for Failure to Control Speed.
