What Happened

Texas Department of Public Safety officials are investigating a crash that killed a person at Hwy 75 and Mitchell Cemetery Rd near Huntsville, TX on May 8th, 2022. Police say the incident happened when a pickup truck headed southbound suffered a left rear tire blow out. The vehicle lost control as a result and traveled across traffic lanes, colliding head-on with a Chevrolet Malibu. A front seat passenger in the Malibu died while the driver and two rear child passengers were hospitalized. Also hospitalized was the pickup truck driver, a pregnant front seat passenger and additional child passenger. Additional information was not relayed.
