One Person Killed in Accident at I-820 in Hurst, TX

Hurst Police are investigating a collision that killed a motorcyclist at I-820 in Hurst, TX on July 9th, 2024. Police say the incident first began around 3 a.m. According to investigators, a dump truck exiting a nearby construction zone is alleged to have struck an overhead road sign. Debris from the sign is said to have fallen into the roadway, blocking lanes of travel. The truck involved is alleged to have continued traveling without stopping or alerting authorities. Reports say around 4 a.m., as authorities at the scene blocked the roadway for cleanup, a motorcycle is alleged to have travel around a blockade and struck the debris.
