What Happened

Wichita Falls Police are investigating a crash that killed a pedestrian at Missile Rd and Central Fwy in Wichita Falls, TX on October 14th, 2024. Police say the incident happened around 8:24 p.m. According to investigators, a vehicle is said to have pulled onto the side of the I-44 while still allegedly occupying part of a lane of travel. An occupant of the vehicle is said to have exited the vehicle and was truck by an approaching vehicle. Following the initial collision, reports say a second individual attempting to help the first victim was struck by a vehicle as well. Reports say the first individual who was struck died while the second, 31-year-old man, was hospitalized with non-life-threatening injuries. Additional information was not immediately available.
