What Happened

Texas Department of Public Safety officials have information on a crash that killed one person at US Hwy 281 and FM 716 in Premont, TX on November 1st, 2023. Police say the incident happened as a patrol unit was attempting to perform a stop on a Ford F-250 that was allegedly reported stolen. The truck is said to have somehow veered from the road before striking a guardrail. Sources say both the patrol unit and Ford overturned following a collision and caught fire. One occupant of the Ford died at the scene. The conditions of the officers in the patrol unit was not revealed.
