What Happened

Houston Police are investigating a collision that killed a person at West Sam Houston Tollway in Houston, TX on February 13th, 2022. Police say the incident took place around 2:30 a.m. Initial reports suggest that a pair of vehicles were involved in a rear-end collision, one stopping in a right shoulder and the other partially in travel lane. One driver was said to be surveying the damage to his vehicle when he was struck by a third vehicle that police say is said to have been driving erratically. That vehicle then fled the scene and was later found three miles away at a gas station. Police did not say if the driver was also found there. The man struck suffered fatal injuries as a result of the crash.
